SPLASH PAGE

Even though you have several links and buttons on your splash page, it does not look cluttered because you've organised them all in a neat and tidy fashion. The "enter" button is larger which is good because it will not confuse the visitors what with all of the other buttons there. Nice! 6/10

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Definitely unique looking, with a punkish feel to it. 7/10

LAYOUT

It's certainly very creative, and also highly detailed. The silver safety pin in the top left corner is a great touch, and the orange and black colour combination looks fabulous. The layout itself doesn't take up much of the page though, there's a lot of white space there - if you considered making the layout a bit bigger it would make quite a difference, unless that is your particular style, of course. The navigation is clear and easy to find, situated on the left hand side of your i-Frame. 14/20

CONTENT

I like how the content pops up into a neat, compact little window. You have some really great content here, and some of which is original also, for example the "Inside My Purse" and "My Wardrobe" pages, which you don't see every day when you surf people's sites. Shimmering Secrets is very visitor friendly, with loads of content in the "You" section. I could easily be entertained in this section alone for a fair amount of time. An amateur web designer could really find your tutorials and free graphics very useful, and there are several contests one could enter also. Moving onto the "Interact" section. Such sections are proving increasingly popular on personal websites, and yours is jam packed with interactive questions for the visitor, as well as the opportunity for them to voice their opinions on certain topics. Your "Site" section is of the average standard of a personal site, and I found no fault with it whatsoever. All in all, I found your content to be very worthwhile and a pleasure to browse through. 20/20

SUMMARY

Shimmering Secrets has something in store for everyone, offering valuable tutorials and graphics to anyone who wishes to use them. Your layout is very creative, and 'punkish', which is a very popular theme among websites at the moment. It is obvious to see that you have put a great amount of effort into the presentation and the content of your site, and this really shows.
