SPLASH PAGE

I'm appreciative of the fact that you've pointed out that the splash page is there for a reason, but cross-browser compatibility will always win out over a splash page. Is there any specific reason you only have IE? Because your website is only viewable in IE, Rhiannon was unable to review it (IE isn't available to Mac users anymore), so you have me (Nellie) instead.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I decided to take a chance and view your website in both Firefox and Safari for Windows before opening Internet Explorer and your splash page really does serve a purpose. Your website looks terrible in both Firefox and Safari. However, it looks much better in IE. Because I'm THAT much of a stickler for cross-browser compatibility (especially when a few of my favourite visitors are Mac users) and because I'd like to be able to visit you without having to switch browsers, I'm going to attempt to re-code your layout after I've finished reviewing for you and you can base your future layouts off that code.

LAYOUT

There's not a lot wrong with your layout aesthetically in Internet Explorer. The colours are nice and your header image fits nicely with the whole vibe of your site. The only major gripes I have with it is the centre alignment of your text in your content area and the size of your headers compared to the rest of your text. The centre alignment makes everything look rather messy and all over the place and the small headers don't stand out against the rest of the content as headers. I'm also not too fond of the beveled effect surrounding the content area, but that's probably just personal taste rather than an overall aesthetic no-no. I have fixed most of this up in the re-code, but you're more than welcome to add it back if you liked it that way!

Coding wise, everything is a mess. Absolute positioning is terrible for cross-browser compatibility, but I think I've harped on about that enough. Onwards and upwards!

CONTENT

Me

All About Me - There's a ton of information here. Have you thought about spilting it up into a few more subpages. Your likes and dislikes could go on a seperate page, as could the information about your friends.

Ask Me A Question -Ugh! Wak's Ask & Answer. This is a terrible piece of script as it's easily hackable. Depending on what you're able to run on your server, I suggest looking into PHPAskIt. It's much more secure and not too difficult to set up.

Contact Me - Nothing to report here.

Fanlistings - All the images under Other are appearing as broken for me.

Future Plans - Under My Dream Job, english should be English and experice should be experience. The sentence under Children doesn't make a great amount of sense. I suggest changing it to: Because I'm only sixteen, I honestly have no idea if I want children and/or how many? (I think this is what you meant here but you missed a few words) I want to have. This is something I should contemplate when I'm older, more mature and finanically stable. And finally, under Where I Want To live, you've capitalised it after a comma.

Opinions - *grins at the first opinion* Water tastes like water. Coke needs to be capitalised on this page because it's a brand name.

Photography - Hooray for thumbnails! But this page is rather bare. Add some more photos! :)

My Room - You have such a cute room. Growing up, mine was always boring and plainly decorated. You also have the same lamp as my younger sister! Nice Impulse collection you've got going there too. I have the London one myself. Smells yummy, no?

Music - Bah! A list. How about expanding a little more on the bands you've bolded (at least) with some information about how you got into them and your favourite songs etc by them. Lists are boring!

Photos of me, My things etc - Lol! Asian relatives! I have a few of them myself.

Quotes - The last quote is missing quotation marks like the rest of 'em.

What's Not In My Bag -I like the idea behind this page. In the Ericsson paragraph, i've should be I've.

You

The World's Youngest Mother - swelled-up should be swollen, mother's day should be Mother's Day, as it is the name of a holiday and peru should be Peru, as it's the name of a country.

Does it Take Seven Years to Digest Gum? - The link to this article and the title are swapped around a little bit. If this is intentional, cool, but I'd suggest making the title and the link the same text. Grats on spelling diarrhoea right!

Chocolate and Banana Milkshake - Ingrediants should be Ingredients, nesquick should be Nesquik (brand name) and The under instruction number 2 should be the.

Homemade Stirfry - Again, ingrediants should be ingredients, Pieces should be pieces, cauliflour should be cauliflower, Broccoli should be broccoli Wocestor should be Worcestershire and Garlic should be garlic. Also, the chicken is missing a hyphen in the list.

Photography - You're missing a full stop at the end of the first paragraph on this page and Tip #2. Under Tip #6, Alot should be A lot.

What This Section Is About - Moneys should be money's, i'm should be I'm and again, alot should be a lot.

Clothes - Learnt doesn't need the apostrophe you've given it and there's a missing full stop on #2.

Spleak - You've left the first instance of Spleak uncapitalised, but followed it up with a capitalisation! *shocked* Because Spleak is the name of something, the second instance is the correct one. Under the second image, it should be Wasn't Von Dutch was so 2002? and definately should be definitely.

Finish the Story - This is a pretty unique idea! I couldn't find any spelling, punctuation or grammar mistakes on this page.

Are You Weird?! - Weird in the link to this page needs to be capitalised. tv should be TV as it's an abbreviation.

Brushes - aknowledge should be acknowledge and the paragraph is missing a fullstop. These are some really cute brushes but you should include image packs for those who don't have Paintshop Pro or older versions so they can make their own brushes from them.

Site

*shudders at the mention of Swimchick and Pixel FX and hopes you'll be using Tutorialtasic more often*. css should be CSS, as it's an acronym, definately should be definitely, reccommend (under pixelfx, you have it spelt correctly on the rest of the page) should be recommend, php should be PHP and Dmitry's paragraph is missing a fullstop. Also, is there any reason the text under shyble-stock.deviantar.com is bolded?

Domain

I'm not sure why this section isn't compiled under site, but because there's a lot of information on both pages, I guess it makes sense to have them seperated. This time Imperfect should be This Time Imperfect, as it is a song title. Same goes for Perversion Of A Truth. Under How I Got This Domain, Buying should be buying.

SUMMARY

It seems I spent most of my time correcting spelling errors and the like than anything else. This generally means your content is up to snuff, but adding more of the same quality stuff wouldn't go amiss! I will be sending you the recode I have done of your website the moment this review is published and you can play around with it to get something more to your liking while still keeping it cross-browser compatible. After that, your site should be pretty freakin' sweet!
