Disclaimer

In case anyone is wondering, I am not a real paranormal investigator. I know that you guys realise this, but yeah...seems that some outsiders, particularly people from the NZ Ghosts forum, think otherwise. I know that the members of this forum will be reading this, since there is a private conversation about me in a moderators-only thread. (I know this due to spotting a referral link in my stats, which lead to a private moderators only thread titled "Petshopgirl", that I could not access.) When I questioned the other members regarding this private thread, I was told that it was about my Waitomo experiences as well as my kiln article. And this could not be made public because....? This could not be posted in the public thread about the very same subject because...? It's disheartening to know that others obviously deem me stupid and naive.

I posted up a picture of myself against a door at the hotel, which showed a black mass around my face and some ectoplasm near the door. In turn it seems that I was either on drugs / alcohol / played with an ouija board / seance in order for the paranormal energy to accumulate around my face. In short, it is believed by certain members of this forum that I 'knew what I was doing' and purposefully initiated spiritual contact via channelling.

In reality, I barely even know what channelling is and I'm not stupid enough to conduct a seance or play with ouija boards, as I know what this could lead to.

I would only call myself a professional paranormal investigator if I was....gee, I don't know, a professional with the necessary equipment needed for a ghost hunt, such as thermometers and other temperature reading equipment.

At the end of the day, I just resent the fact that as a result of posting a picture, I was irresponsibly accused of willingly initiating spiritual contact, that I "knew what I was doing" and what have you. At no time at all did I engage in any methods of provocation. At no time at all did I consciously think "I'm going to try and contact spirits!" Why would I engage in such an act when I have no experience on the subject matter? Contrary to the obvious opinion of certain NZ Ghosts forum members, I am not stupid and would never engage in spiritual invocation when inexperienced. It is not my fault that I look possessed in the image that is in question. Some of you may have seen the image, it is the one of me standing near the door with black paranormal matter covering most of my face and distorting my features, thus making me look like a cross between Hitler and the Elephant Man. This image is included in my "Waitomo Caves Hotel" article, in the "Scribbles" section.

I am a girl with a camera, who has an interest in exploring the possibility that the paranormal exists. I do not own any professional ghost hunting equipment, nor do I have the desire to receive any formal training in the areas of clairvoyance, paranormal investigations, or spiritual contact. There is nothing wrong with taking a few pictures of haunted locations if you're interested in that sort of thing, and I will continue to do so for as long as I please.
